Technology has driven all human progress – from the pre-historic wheels and spears to the futuristic Mars colonization and self-aware robots!
Information technology, in particular, has become the most prominent one in the 21st century – with the internet leading the way.
Of course, like everything else, “too much of a good thing is bad” applies here as well.
Steven Spielberg has beautifully expressed this concern…
“Technology can be our best friend, and technology can also be the biggest party pooper of our lives. It interrupts our own story, interrupts our ability to have a thought or a daydream, to imagine something wonderful, because we’re too busy bridging the walk from the cafeteria back to the office on the cell phone.”
– Steven Spielberg
Having said that, I believe that technology has helped us more than it has harmed us.
Also, the rapidly accelerating pace of innovation in this area is a testimony to humanity’s intelligence and creativity!
I have been a technology professional for 19 years – I have worked in manufacturing for 2 years and in IT for 17 years.
It is incredible to think that I was doing my MBA when Google was launched – and I was one of the enthusiastic adopters of the service!
A large part of my IT experience has been in the enterprise space – making & selling custom software for banks.
However, I have been tinkering with the web since the early days of the internet – I had a Blogspot account when the service was launched!
This fascination has continued to date – and, that is why I decided to start writing about technology.
The Technology page is a collection of my original articles, opinions, & views.
